subhanAllah sister Farhana, I saw the button for this post on your webpage... and I just sent a package to Brother Dawd a month ago. Now that I see your name I remember seeing it in the email lists! SubhanAllah isnt it interesting how Allah ties us all together. I havent been too active in the emails because it seemed as though I was the only one in the US and the others are in London. But I tried to do something over here collected money from some sisters. MY hubby is cool with the brother who owns the dar us salam bookstore here in NY and so he gave us a good discount on maybe 3-4 dozen books, i sent probably 50 hijabs, 4 lbs of dates, 2 dozen kufis, 2 dozen miswaks, 100+ dawah pamphets and CDs on Salah- all in spanish. When brother Dawd told me he got the package and him and some brothers started crying when they saw the dates, I broke down too. I was like we take dates for granted and some of them never even saw one before!! SubhanAllah it felt so good to be active and not just preaching how we should help our brothers and sisters out. I hope inshaAllah to do something else for them again and hopefully your community can do something as well! Although now I think he really just needs financial help.
